Our Lady 15 April 2019

Notre Dame, Our Lady Poetry by Kaaya Faye

She burns into rubble.
In ruins fall years
Of words, music, life.
Black and grey,
She bends under her own weight.
Her broken spine
Let go of itself
And all memories
Of history,
Of our great grandparents,
Of all that has been.
The sky engulfs itself
In murk,
As she takes away
With her
A part of you,
A part of me.
