Pandora's Box

pandora's box poem by kaaya faye

Binging on my senses
I tried staying awake
For as long as I could.

Remembering everything
Thinking, feeling, and silently
I was lying on the bed.

Nothing could move me
Inside or out
I was a rock, cold on the ground.

Afraid of everything I said
Of what answers
I could get.

“Let me know
When you’re proving right
The things you spoke.

Let me know
When it is
That I will light my next smoke.”

Afraid that answer
Would be ‘soon’
Or no answer at all.
